Meet the Cast of
“TREASURE ISLAND”

Written by: Ben Crocker
Directed by: Julian Packer

A fun-filled family frolic for those who enjoy booing, cheering, singing and laughing at a lighthearted, traditional panto. With a nod to the original RL Stevenson’s classic tale of adventure on the high seas, this audacious tale asks some pertinent questions about our own treasures. This madcap laugh-a-minute pirate adventure story, from start to finish, will have you rolling in the aisles with laughter!

It takes a Village to put on a production like this! For Treasure Island, there are 28 volunteer actors (pictured below) and more than 35 behind-the-scenes volunteer producers, stage managers, musicians, choreographers, set designers and builders, costume creators and sewers, set painters, backstage crew, hair/make-up, lighting and sound techs, prop collectors etc. Volunteers are the backbone of ECHO Players, and we appreciate every one of them.

JULIAN PACKER
Director

Julian has had an interest in theatre since playing Algernon in The Importance of Being Ernest and Everyman in Everyman, whilst at school in Nottingham, England.

For the past fifty years he has directed plays in all the major genres, including comedy, farce, drama,  musicals, pageants and plays for and with children. This is Julian’s third pantomime for ECHO, the others being Dick Whittington and Peter Pan.

GERRY JEFFS
Mrs. Hawkins (Mum)

After a 3 year hiatus from the stage, I’ll do my very best to carry on the time honoured pantomime tradition of the Dame. Happy holidays!

SUSAN WARNER
Mrs. Henderson

Susan has been very happy to be involved with Echo Players since 1996;  on stage, backstage, in the tech booth, on the board and various committees.   She has been having a great time with the cast, crew, and director of Treasure Island and hopes you will enjoy the wild ride ahead!

BRIAN LECKY
Squire Trelawny

After performing in numerous Echo productions over the past 18 years, Treasure Island mark’s Brian’s first venture into the world of pantomime. It’s the right play, at the right time, with the right director. Such fun, such joy, such silliness! Thank you Julian for letting me become The Squire.

ANN JINKS
Polly (the Parrot)

I am thrilled to be appearing in my second show of the 50th anniversary season. It’s been a bit of a juggling act rehearsing and acting in back-to-back shows, but it’s also been so much fun! Thank you to Julian for the opportunity to play Polly. He and the wonderful cast, crew and production team have been encouraging and supportive as I ‘spread my wings’. I am forever grateful for the love and support from Roger, family and friends. Enjoy the show! Squawk!

CALVIN TYNDALL
Long John Silver

Arr, with ECHO Players this rogue did land,
A stagebound soul, with script in hand.
Portrayin' Silver, fierce and sly,
With a one-legged stride and a glintin' eye!

OLIVIA HYDE & KEANA JEFFS
Jim Hawkins & Jenny Trelawny

Olivia is a University of Toronto Honors graduate, in English and Theatre. She has performed in shows such as The Trojan Women and Harlem Duet. Olivia was thrilled to be a part of the cast of Matilda, and is excited to join Echo again, in Treasure Island, combining her love of singing, dancing and acting.

Keana has done many productions with ECHO including Narnia and Peter Pan! Working with this cast has been amazing and she hopes you enjoy the show!
