E.C.H.O. Players is a non-profit Society in good standing governed by an elected Board of 11 active members. We currently have approximately 240 members who participate to a greater or lesser extent in all the activities of the organization. It is estimated that the Village Theatre attracts between 8,000-10,000 people per year from Nanaimo to Courtnay/Comox. We own the Village Theatre in Qualicum Beach that has been designated as a Heritage Building. Our current major income source is from the sale of tickets and supplemented by sponsorship from local businesses. Currently, we do not receive any direct government support. Our building is approaching 70 years in age and requires ongoing maintenance such as a heat pump replacement and general upgrading including LED lighting. These costs are high and the Board realizes that we need to generate additional funds through focused donations and fundraising events. We also need to encourage younger people to participate in the Arts hence we will expand our scholarship program. In order to maintain our theatre and continue to provide quality entertainment, the Board of Directors, at the May 16th meeting 2016, approved the creation of the E.C.H.O. Players Arts Fund. The objects of this Fund are as follows:

1. Maintain our Heritage Building.
2. Provide ongoing requirements necessary for quality productions
3. Provide community support through workshops, scholarships and facilities.
4. Contribute to the love of theatre by such things as special events and activities e.g. Village Theatre mural and Spam and Maple Syrup.

Our first project was a full wall mural created by celebrated artist David Goatley mounted on the west wall of the Village Theatre. It was officially unveiled on July 1st, 2017- the 150th Celebration of Confederation.

We have limited edition canvas Giclées of the Mural available for order at the Village Theatre Box Office. These reproductions will be signed by the Artist and will come with a letter of authenticity. There are two sizes available: 8”x32” for $350 and 6”x21” for $225. There will only be 150 copies of each available.

The Board of E.C.H,O. Players invites those who believe in the mission statement of this Fund to make a contribution. All donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt.

A sincere thank you to all the generous individuals who have donated to our fund. Your support has been outstanding!
